Fraudulent shock call: Police hold suspects in Ulm!
On Tuesday, the police arrested a 21-year-old man who is suspected of cheating an 85-year-old woman with a so-called "shock call". The fraudster pretended to be a police officer and announced to the elderly woman that her daughter had caused a fatal traffic accident. The shaken woman was at risk of losing her savings.
At the request of the Ulm public prosecutor, a judge issued an arrest warrant against the Polish citizen on Wednesday, who is without a permanent residence in Germany. It is under urgent suspicion of attempted fraud and is now in custody. So far he has not commented on the allegations.
