In the last preliminary round game of the regional league Bayern, TSV Aubstadt showed an impressive performance and clearly defeated FC Eintracht Bamberg 5-2. Coach Julian Grell met a decisive personnel election: Marco Nickel, who usually plays as a striker, jumped in at short notice as a central defender. Despite the initial nervousness, the team started from the kick-off like the fire brigade and dominated the first half with a clear 3-1 lead.
The game took an exciting turn in the second half when Bamberg came back to the square with a bold line -up. While Aubstadt came into dangerous distress in the meantime, goalkeeper Max Böhnke kept his team in the game with outstanding reflexes. Finally, an own goal of Tobias Linz secured the 4-2 lead to the Audstädters, followed by a goal by Owen Degelman shortly before the end. Trainer Grell praised his players for the mental strength that they demonstrated despite the difficulties. The victory consolidates the position of TSV Aubstadt and increases self -confidence in this decisive phase of the season.
