Bamberg-Nuremberg railway line: Travelers have to switch to buses!
Bamberg, Deutschland - The railway line between Bamberg and Nuremberg will be closed to extensive construction work from October 25th to November 1st. The section between Forchheim and Eggolsheim is not accessible from 10 p.m., as the Deutsche Bahn (DB) announced. On October 27th, regional traffic between Bamberg and Fürth will also have to switch to replacement traffic by bus.
In addition, the ICE trains between Munich/Nuremberg and Berlin are diverted and record an additional travel time of around 100 minutes. The hold in Coburg, Bamberg and Erlangen fall away during this diversion. The IC connections from Karlsruhe to Leipzig are also affected and are eliminated between Nuremberg and Leipzig. The construction work is intended to expand the existing tracks and install the necessary technology for future operation. Further details on the changes and the effects on traffic can be found here .
