Rail traffic in Zittau is finally starting again - vandalism removed!
Ebersbach, Deutschland - The Zittauer narrow -gauge railway is back on the rails! After a fiber optic cable between Ebersbach and Zittau was damaged by vandalism on Monday evening, the company was resumed on Wednesday. A temporary bridged the failure of the signal cable, as Alfred Simm announced from the Eastern Saxon railway fans.
In addition, the East German railway company (ODEG) has been in use between Hagenwerder and Zittau since Wednesday morning, which enabled the bus emergency traffic, as spokeswoman Dietmute Graf emphasized. Despite the positive news, passengers on the RB61 and RE2 must expect further restrictions on Thursday, while the repairs are continued. The property damage amounts to around 25,000 euros, and the federal police continue to investigate in connection with the incident, which is considered a vandalism at a street bridge in Ebersbach.
