Interest in the alliance Sahra Wagenknecht in Bavaria is growing rapidly

Munich (dpa/lby)- In the recent weeks, the alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) has determined a remarkable interest in membership in Bavaria, against the background of their recent election successes in Saxony and Thuringia. According to Manfred Seel, a member of the Federal Executive Board, this is the beginning of an exciting chapter for the party that is only at the beginning of her trip.

Currently, the BSW in Bavaria only has around 100 members, including around 30 municipal mandate carriers. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg. There have already been around 2,000 applications from interested parties who want to join the new political movement. This shows that there is a need for change and new political orientation.

growth with careful

Apparently the new members' admission request is not just a formality. Seel emphasizes that one wanted to check carefully which people actually fit the party. "We want to see exactly who comes to us and whether it suits us," explains Seel. This careful approach is designed to protect the identity and goals of the BSW. Seel, which is also located in the district council of the Donau-Ries district, has the task of building the Bavaria State Association for the BSW, which has not yet been officially founded.

Nevertheless, the first steps towards a structured development of the party in Bavaria have already been taken. Seel is confident that a solid basis for the state association can quickly be created with the enormous interest. This could not only bring a breath of fresh air to Bavarian politics, but also change the perspective on the ideological positions of the left.

a prominent face

In this context, Klaus Ernst, a prominent member of the Bundestag and former federal chairman of the DIE LINKE party, plays a key role. His awareness and political experience could help the BSW to anchor itself more in the political landscape of Bavaria. The hope is associated with seriousness that the new members are not only numerous but also diverse and bring different perspectives into the party.

The steps that the BSW takes indicate that one aims not only to win votes, but also to create a broad movement that is based on the principles of social justice and political participation. The upcoming developments in Bavaria could also be seen as a barometer for the future of the BSW at the national level.
