Schweinfurt leads: The oldest cities in Bavaria at an overview!
In Germany, demographic development shows trends alarming: According to current statistics, the population is getting older. The numbers are particularly frightening in Bavaria. According to an evaluation of the Bavarian State Office for Statistics, five cities in the region land among the oldest population in Germany. At the top, Schweinfurt sits enthroned with an old quotient of 41.2-here 100 people between 20 and 64 years come 41.2 over 65-year-olds! For 2042, an increase is even forecast to 49.3.
Amberg and Hof follow as the second and third-party cities with old quotients of 40.7 and 40.5. Coburg and Kaufbeuren are also not far away and reveal that the age structure in Bavaria changes drastically. In Kaufbeuren, for example, the Altenquotient 2022 is 39.4, but will increase to 48.5 in 2042. These developments make it clear that the aging population in Bavaria is a worrying reality that cannot be ignored.
