Bayreuth's anniversary 2026: City council stops Esslingen's cultural project!
The Bayreuth City Council has decided to revise the planned collaborations for the anniversary year 2026, the 150th anniversary of the Richard Wagner Festival. A central component should be the program of the Esslingen podium, which is known for its high artistic quality. But the financial framework has worsened drastically.
Mayor Thomas Ebersberger warned of considerable financial risks for the city after the funding of the federal cultural foundation was reduced. "Due to the tense budget, it would be irresponsible to capture this cultural project," said Ebersberger.
