BBC Bayreuth is clearly subject to Phoenix Hagen - setback at the start of the season!
BACK for the BBC Bayreuth! In the third game of the season, the Bayreuth basketball players had to give up in the home game against Phoenix Hagen with 78:103. Despite the full line -up, including the returned Dejan Kovacevic with a mask, the Bayreuther could not convince from the start. After a catastrophic start, they were quickly back with 2:12 and ended the first quarter with a disappointing 11:30. The lack of intensity and many defensive errors made the guests from Hagen immediately pull advantages and continuously expand them in the further course of the game.
In the second quarter, the BBC only briefly managed to shorten the backlog, but was quickly reversed in the barriers. Often a threesome from Hagen was the answer to every attempt by the Bayreuther to fight back into the game. Finally, Phoenix Hagen pulled away to 60:37 at halftime. In the last section, too, the BBC was unable to really reduce the gap, and the game ended with a sobering 78:10 defeat. The best thrower on the part of the BBC was Demarcus Demonia with 20 points, while Hagen was dominated by Bjarne Kraushaar (24 points) and Sincere Carry (22 points).
coach Florian Wedell was disappointed: "We have to be better. Today we had too little intensity and gave Hagen so much self -confidence," he said after the game, while the Bayreuther now have to hope for an improvement in the next game against casting. Further details are at www.wiesentbote.de
