Final sprint for cycle path: Windischeschenbach to Erbendorf soon continuously paved path
paved cycle path network strengthens regional mobility
The completion of the KTB cycle path between Windischeschenbach and Erbendorf is not only a huge step for cyclists, but also a significant progress for the local community. The last section, which is currently being expanded towards Naabdemenreuth, should be completely paved by the end of August 2023, which makes it considerably easier to use the cycle path.
joint efforts for the infrastructure
In a remarkable political and administrative interaction, the city of Windischeschenbach and the municipality of Krummennaab are working closely together with the Office for Rural Development. In the past, this cooperation has already led to closing the last gap of the bike path in 2019. Mayor Karlheinz Budnik is pleased with this further milestone: "Then the bikes from Windischeschenbach to Erbendorf roll completely over asphalt." This improvement of the infrastructure is important for both the leisure activities of the citizens and for everyday traffic.
Financial support and technical precision
The renovation, which is taken over by Markgraf from Bayreuth, comprises about 1100 meters of the new cycle path and has a total budget of around 360,000 euros. The city of Windischeschenbach has also ensured that necessary additional costs that could arise from agricultural use are covered. This effort illustrates the strong will of the city to make the bike paths accessible not only for leisure drivers, but also for agricultural vehicles.
smooth running of the work
The execution of the work is on schedule, as Polier Christian Friedrich and site manager Tobias Müller confirm. Thanks to the good coordination with the State Building Office, represented by Felix Steghöfer and Alexander Reinhold, all challenges have so far been successfully mastered. Friedrich said that the cooperation with the local residents also works very well.
The importance of the network of cycle paths for the community
The creation of a continuous paved bike path is not only a local project, but also contributes to the promotion of sustainable mobility. Cycling not only increases the quality of life of the residents, but also reduces traffic noise and air pollution. By investing in the development of a comprehensive cycle path network, the city of Windischeschenbach is making a sign of environmentally friendly locomotion. This initiative shows how important it is to invest in the infrastructure in order to meet the needs of citizens and at the same time minimize ecological footprint.
