Three weeks before the start of the new ice hockey season in the Oberliga Süd, the Bayreuth Tiger's reason to be happy: The bankruptcy proceedings of the association were finally lifted by the Bayreuth District Court. This positive news was published on Friday by the lawyer GmbH "Pluta".

With the cancellation, the newly founded "Onesto Tigers Bayreuth Eishockey GmbH" can now run all the necessary business regardless of the insolvency administrator. So far, this has been involved in certain areas for legal reasons, such as accounting. The statement by the insolvency administrator emphasizes: "The procedure is canceled and the Tigers can now also take the restart from a legal point of view." This marks an important turning point for the association.

The way to the lifting of the insolvency proceedings was paved in March of this year when the bankruptcy proceedings were opened. A final bankruptcy plan meant that the investor "Onesto" entered the role of the new partner of the GmbH in order to stabilize the club financially and ensure the game. Onesto, a digital platform based in Aichach, has also undertaken as a name sponsor, which contributes to the stability of the association.

The cancellation of the procedure now enables the Tigers to act without legal hurdles. This is of great importance, since it will not only allow the association to reorganize itself, but also to regain the trust of players and fans. The managing director of Onesto Tigers Bayreuth Eishockey GmbH, Thomas Lünenborg, is optimistic and emphasized: "We have put together a very good squad and completed a respectable season preparation, despite the enormous shortage of time."

In July, the association already received the license for the coming season in the Oberliga Süd, the third highest division in German ice hockey, without conditions, which speaks for a high degree of trust. The focus is now on the upcoming start of the season: On September 20, the team will receive the EV Füssen in the local arena under the American chief coach Larry Suarez. The team will be presented to the public in the coming week, and the anticipation is growing.
