Upper Franconia in the crisis: Economy threatens de -industrialization!

The economy in Upper Franconia is heading for a dangerous descent! According to the latest economic survey of the IHK for Upper Franconia Bayreuth, the economic climate index has fell five points to 95. Dr. Michael Waasner, President of the IHK, warns of alarming developments: "Future investments are increasingly being carried out abroad, which damages our location elementary." While 28 percent of the companies rate their current business situation positively, the majority of the industry and wholesale are negative voices. The decline in orders is worrying, especially for the industrial companies, where over half reports of a sunken volume.

The dark prospects are increasing the companies: only 16 percent expect improvements in the next twelve months! Wholesale, the construction industry and the tourism sector are particularly pessimistic. In addition, a quarter of the companies do not plan any investments in Germany at all. "The competitiveness of Upper Franconia is increasingly in danger," said Waasner. The IHK urgently calls for structural reforms and political measures to stop the migration of investments abroad. A gradual de -industrialization appears to be possible, and politics is responsible for saving Germany. You can find details on these worrying developments here .
