Grünfeld corner: New naming for known space on Ku'damm in Berlin

The place at the intersection Joachimsthaler Straße and Ku’damm-known for the traffic chancellel by Werner Düttmann-is now called Grünfeld corner. The new name is to be reminded of a Jewish family that opened a department store in this place in 1926. That is why the space is popular at the time. The Nazis let the Grünfeld family 'textile company "arerve" in 1938 by the Max Kühl company. In 1939 the family finally left Germany.
The renaming of the square has no effect on the postal addresses, since all offices and companies are either registered on Joachimsthaler Straße or on the Kurfürstendamm. In addition, there is no street sign with the name of the square that has to be changed.

The change was decided by the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office in February and took place on Wednesday.
