Improved mobile phone supply: Telekom extends network in the district of Central Saxony

The future of mobile communications in Central Saxony is now tangible!

Telekom has raised mobile phone supply to a new level in a huge effort in the Middle Saxony district! In just two months, the giant built two brand new locations and equipped two existing with the latest LTE technology and a tough 5G network. This not only means an improved range, but also more bandwidth for all users - and that's just the beginning!

in the municipalities Bobritzsch-Hilbersdorf, Flöha, Frankenberg/Sat., Ostrliegistal, the new locations are now active. Particularly noteworthy: the location in Frankenberg/Sat. ensures that drivers along the A4 motorway can finally surf smoothly, while the location in Flöha lets the rail travelers arrive on the Saxony-Ost route in the digital age.

The mobile phone expansion continues!

"The need for bandwidth is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to pace in mobile phone expansion," explains Georg von Wagner, the spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, and this promise is kept. Telekom is currently operating 135 locations in the district with an impressive budget coverage of 98 percent!

and not enough: A further 43 locations will be added by 2026! In addition, there are extensions with LTE or 5G in the pipeline on 45 radio masts. That sounds promising!

A call for cooperation

In order to be able to successfully implement these ambitious plans, Telekom is dependent on the help of the municipalities and owners. If you want to provide a location, you can contact the German radio tower directly. Telekom itself manages a network of more than 36,000 mobile radio locations and extends this by 1,500 new ones every year!
