ZDF extends contract with Johannes B. Kerner until 2028: Entertainment remains

An epic of television: Johannes B. Kerner remains on board!

In a spectacular announcement, ZDF announced that the alliance with the charismatic moderator Johannes B. Kerner will continue until 2028. His distinctive nature and passion with which he captivates the viewers are now on the agenda of the public broadcaster for three more years!

Not an unimportant step, because Kerner is the face of the legendary quiz format "The Quiz Champion" and will continue to ensure unforgettable entertainment specials that make the heart of the viewers beat faster!

ZDF entertainment chief Oliver Heidemann leaves no doubt about it: "We are proud to bind Johannes B. Kerner. He not only brings exciting transfer of knowledge, but also emotional discussions on important topics.

The successes of the "quiz champion" are overwhelming. On September 28, 2024, Kerner will lead the show again - and that's just the next prank! In the past few months he has brought over 60 prominent guests to the studio, including greats such as Michael "Bully" Herbig and Bastian Pastewka. His specials, like the recently the "double special", provided plenty of variety in the "Quiz Champion" world!

In a record-breaking live event, the "Quiz Champion donation challenge" from September 14 and 15, 2024, Kerner asked a whopping 428 quiz questions and collected more than four million euros for German Cancer Aid. "A true experiment that our viewers rewarded despite hard competition!" announces Heidemann proudly.

But not enough: Kerner will also enjoy our presence in the pre -Christmas period on ZDF. On December 7, 2024, he moderated the large donation gala “Ein Heart for Children” live from Berlin for the twelfth time. And that's not all! On Christmas Eve he stands for “Christmas with the Federal President” in front of the camera, followed on December 31, 2024 from a spectacular New Year's Eve celebration live from the Brandenburg Gate - sensational!
