Hafenplatz area: District office signals willingness to cooperate

The district office has had discussions with various interest groups in relation to the harbor site area and took note of the investigation into the managing director of Hedera Bauwert for “loan fraud”. District City Councilor Florian Schmidt commented on the complexity of the project, which provides for a possible re -establishment of the area with Gewobag. He emphasized the importance of a reliable prospect of staying for all tenants and the transfer of part of the living space to municipal ownership. Schmidt expressed concerns about the behavior of the owner administrations and signaled a limited willingness to cooperate due to a lack of trust. In July and August, the district office plans measures such as the inventory of tenant data, technical discussions on various perspectives for the area and a tenant meeting. The construction and housing supervision will continue to investigate defects and monitor the legal obligations of the owners.
