Large restrictions on subway traffic: U2 stop closed!
The Berlin subway will be made by considerable restrictions in the coming weeks. From Sunday, January 5th, until Friday, March 21st, passengers on line U2 will have to expect the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz stop. In the nights from Sunday to Thursday, between 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., this station is not approached due to urgently needed night construction sites. The BVG works on the route between Alexanderplatz and Senefelderplatz to improve the infrastructure, such as traffic jam and diversions in road traffic
But there are not only problems in the subway: In Wedding, a water pipe break that occurred on New Year's Eve causes massive traffic disorders. A main drinking water line burst at the intersection of the sea and Guineastraße and led to hundreds of thousands of people had no drinking water for around two hours. The water pressure sank in large parts of the city, and Seestrasse was flooded, which also affected some basements nearby. The BVG expects the repair work on the damaged water pipe to continue at least until May, which means that the traffic in the region remains significantly impaired, such as nd currently reported. This has direct consequences for road traffic: only one of two lanes towards Autobahn-Stadttring A100 can be used. The replacement buses for the M13 and 50 tram lines that drive to the Virchow Clinic are also affected and are often stuck in traffic jams. The normal driving operation within the tram lines is also irritated by the detours, while the BVG is still busy with the long -term adjustments to the timetables.
