Kreuzberg in danger: new drug wave with fatal fentanyl!
in the streets of Kreuzberg, especially around Görlitzer Park and the Kottbusser Tor, the presence of drugs is unmistakable. Users come together here, and you often find injections on the ground, which indicates the problem of drug addiction in the region.
According to insider information, a particularly dangerous new drug now appears, which has already requested devastating death consequences in other countries. This development raises worrying questions because it could continue to escalate the already tense situation.
fentanyl conquers the scene
Juri Schaffranek, a street worker of the Gangway Association, made an alarming message in a citizen round in the neighborhood center Kiezanker 36 in Kreuzberg. Crack has dominated the drug scene since 2017, but now Fentanyl is on the rise. This drug is not only new to the region, but also brings enormous risks. Schaffranek is concerned, because fentanyl consumed often comes from already used pain plasters, which can then be administered in different types, be it by spraying or smoking.
The dangerous nature of fentanyl is due to its potency. It is a pain reliever that is up to 100 times stronger than morphine and has become the main cause of the alarming number of opioid overdoses in the USA. In 2021 alone, between 70,000 and 80,000 people died, which illustrates the scope of the opioid crisis.
Although the reports about the fatal dangers of fentanyl from the USA come from, they do not seem to deter many drug users in Kreuzberg. The documented connection between this drug and the numerous deaths in the USA should be a clear warning, but the reality on the streets looks different.
Schaffranek explains that the consumption of fentanyl also increases in Berlin. In the past, it was just a small group of consumers, it is now more and more people who are experimenting with this potentially fatal substance. This new development within the drug scene could have far -reaching effects on the local community, even if the immediate consequences are still unclear.
It remains to be seen whether and which measures are taken to combat this increasing risk and to minimize health risks for the people concerned. The situation in Kreuzberg is complex and requires urgent attention to understand the risks and, if necessary, to be able to react to it.
