Mazepin finally pulls the plug: Formula 1 dream over!

Nikita Mazepin has finally buried his dream of returning to Formula 1. The 25-year-old former Formula 1 driver, who started in 2021 for the Haas team, announced in an emotional Instagram contribution that he will no longer work as a full-time racing driver. Instead, he plans to become active in various other sports, as he explained to the state news agency TASS. According to the report of Berlin Live now Mazepin now describes itself as "Hybrid athlete" and is planning to participate in five competitions this year, including a boxing match, motorcycle races and Russian Buggy championship.

The career of the former Haas pilot ended abruptly when he lost his driver's license after the Russian attack war on Ukraine and was put on the EU sanction list. Mazi, whose father Dimitri had close connections to circling the Russian President Vladimir Putin and acted as head of the Mining Group Uralkali, fought against the sanctions and achieved legal success in March this year. Nevertheless, he now ruled out a return to Formula 1. "I had a lot of time to think about my past and future," said Mazepin, as Speedweek reported. "It is time to write the next act of my life, with dreams that are not bound by speed and trophies."

Despite the blows that he had to take in his short Formula 1 career, Mazepin now reflects on his time in motorsport and says: "The first act of my life was shaped by the hunt for a place in Formula 1. I loved the world, but I can't get these years back." While he is taking new ways in sports, it remains to be seen how his sporting ambitions will develop in the future.
