Specialist congress in Berlin: Green new start for existing buildings!

Berlin, Deutschland - On April 7, 2025, the preparations for the upcoming specialist congress "existing building green" of the Federal Association of Building Grün e.V. (bugg) started. This important congress, which will take place in Berlin on May 6 and 7, 2025, focuses on the subsequent greening of buildings. The event is intended to discuss opportunities, hurdles and obstacles associated with the greening of existing buildings. A total of 26 lecturers are expected to bring in their expertise in a varied program.

The congress will take place at the Hotel Berlin and is aimed at a broad target group. This includes planning, executing, system -providing, energy consultants and representatives from cities, politics and associations. The patronage has taken over the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment as well as numerous associations and sponsors, which underlines the importance of this event.

diverse themed blocks

The event is divided into seven themed blocks that shed light on various aspects of the subsequent greening of building:

  • arguments for subsequent building greening
  • obstacles and hurdles with subsequent roof and facade greening
  • Divide: First contact person and multipliers
  • Baubetigente: specialist planning
  • practical examples of subsequent green buildings
  • strategies and implementations of existing buildings
  • Direct and indirect funding of existing buildings

A central result of the upcoming congress is the BBSR future Bau research project "Existing building Grün Begg", which provides valuable findings for the implementation of the greenery strategies. The previous series of congresses also devoted itself to topics such as biodiversity and the specific challenges that the integration of green areas into urban structures brings.

sustainable urban development and funding programs

In the context of the growing relevance for green infrastructure, it becomes clear that the new order of urban development programs in Germany, which was initiated in 2020, has a direct impact on the pleaded target picture. The programs "Urban Remodeling in Hesse" and "Future Stadtgrün in Hesse" were summarized in the current framework of "growth and sustainable renewal". These funding programs emphasize the need for structural renovation and adaptation of urban and settlement structures.

Especially in view of the climate crisis, the creation and upgrading of the green and blue infrastructures is important in a central point. Missing or unattractive freedom is a major challenge that can be addressed by innovative greenery approaches. City green, climate protection and climate adjustment are not only keywords, but also integrated components of urban and neighborhood development.

The specialist congress on May 6th and 7th, 2025 will not only be a forum for information and exchange, but also a platform that sets important impulses for public and private building and planning community. Registration is expected to be possible from mid -December 2024, so that interested parties have the opportunity to register in good time.
