Fair week 2024: Amazon exhibition in Mitte reveals climate secrets

The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, announced that in the course of the fair week 2024 the district office in cooperation with the Action Group Solidarian World e.V. (ASW) will present the open-air exhibition "Amazon-the largest rainforest in the earth and we". This exhibition, which will take place from September 18 to October 15, 2024, aims to strengthen the awareness of the enormous importance of the Amazon rainforest for the world climate and at the same time focus on the current threats and future projects.

At the opening of the exhibition on September 18 at 2:30 p.m. on the Dorothea Schlegel-Platz (S-BHf. Friedrichstrasse), guests from Amazonia, including activist Alessandra Korap Munduruku, head Jairo Saw Munduruku and project coordinator Marquinho Mota, will be present.

interested school classes and groups of 12 or more people and 12 people have the opportunity to receive free tours from the exhibition and discussions on the topic from September 19 to October 15, 2024. This initiative is supported by the organization "Berlin Aktiv in the Climate Alliance" and the Mitte district office.

The exhibition is realized in cooperation with the coordination of municipal development policy of the Mitte district and promoted by the Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection Berlin in cooperation with the North-Süd-Brücken Foundation.
