The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs about an upcoming event on April 25, 2024 at 8 p.m. in the Philipp-Schaeffer library in Berlin. Sema Poyaz and Hasan H. Taşgın will read in an interview with David Fischbach (Buchfunk Verlag) from Dinçer Güçyeter's book "Our Tale of Germany". In the novel, Güçyeter debuts a family history that illuminates the experiences and challenges of immigrants in Germany. The narrative uses poetic and mythological images to illustrate the fate of loss of home, racism and new beginning.
The audio book is characterized by the urgent interpretation of the speaker Sema Poyraz and Hasan Tasgin, who with their personal experiences bring history to life. Güçyeter's book received the Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair and the audio book was nominated for the German Audiobook Prize 2024. The author Dinçer Güçyeter, himself a child of Turkish guest workers, now works as an author and publisher.
