A cultural Explosion awaits visitors to the Helene Nathan library! From November 25th to 28th, 2024, a window to the fascinating world of traditions and art forms opens in Berlin. During the intercultural week, the diverse cultures of the world are made tangible - and for nothing! No entry costs, just pure lust for discovery!

The start on 25. November at 5:30 p.m. A very special highlight: the chinese tea ceremony , guided by the expert Kwok Ying from "The Art of Tea". Here the participants have the unique opportunity to experience the ceremonial preparation of Chinese teas up close and to deal with themselves. Learn not only to drink tea, but also appreciate as part of a centuries -old ritual!

immersion in the art of Henna and Kintsugi

On Tuesday, 26. November at 5:00 p.m. , the talented Ramona Bhandal shows the captivating Indian and Arabic henna painting . In her workshop, she combines the learning of this centuries -old tradition with exciting stories about its cultural roots and meaning. The crowning glory promises creative hours in which each participant creates their own henna-decorated masterpiece!

But the simple linger does not invite you long! On Wednesday, 27. November at 5:30 p.m. , visitors are introduced to the art of Kintsugi - a remarkable Japanese technology in which broken ceramic is repaired with gold! Under the guidance of artist Ai Moliya, those present learn how to hide breaks, but celebrate as part of beauty! Each participant has the opportunity to decorate a Christmas trailer - manufactured by the talented ceramician Tenko, using real Japanese materials!

The magic of Ebru-Kunst

On the last day, the 28. November from 4:30 p.m. , the fascinating craft of Turkish painting is celebrated on water (Ebru) . The talented Arzu Adak, one of the few Ebru artists in Europe, will be kidnapped into the world of colors dancing in the water. In this workshop you will experience the magic of this centuries-old technology and can be enchanted by the stories and aesthetics of Ebru art!
