Open-Air opera: Josefine Göhmann inspires in the rainbow bike

A playground that normally invites children to play and romp will become an impressive open-air opera stage on September 5 from 9:00 p.m. The award-winning soprano Josefine Göhmann will shine the environment of Eisenacher and Fuggerstrasse in the rainbow bike with her singing. At this special event, residents and visitors can enjoy an extraordinary musical experience that enchants the senses.

Göhmann will perform arias by well-known composers such as Reynaldo Hahn, Claude Debussy, Henry Purcell, Michel Lambert and Jean-Philippe Rameau. It is accompanied by a trio consisting of cello, mandolin and lyra polyversalis. District Mayor Jörn Oltmann describes the concert as a tradition that strengthens social cohesion and brings people closer together in the neighborhood.

a room of encounter

The serenade concert is part of the “Beauty against Violence” project, which was launched in 2017 by director Pascual Jordan and the late Professor Rudolf Prinz zur Lippe. The idea behind this project is to create places of encounter and offer a space that is characterized by positive energy and culture. The intersection at which the concert takes place is closed to motorized traffic this evening, creating a safe and inviting atmosphere.

Oltmann emphasizes that the event puts the space in the right light and enriches the community. "A playground becomes an impressive place of encounter," he says. This transformation shows the creative potential that is in the redesign of public spaces and how cultural events can help promote the sense of community.

The musical event not only promises a special sound pleasure, but also a feeling of togetherness in difficult times. The concept of transforming a playground into an opera stage shows how art and culture can reduce barriers and reach people's hearts.

The event is supported by the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district office, which underpins the importance of cultural support for the community. Through such initiatives that bring people together and offer space for experiences, a new, positive light can be thrown on the neighborhood.
