The situation could continue to worsen in the coming days. When President Joe Biden visits Berlin, trains will be redirected again and section sections of regional transport are discontinued. This is done as part of a new procedure that was introduced for state visits and is known as "999". Michael Wedel from the Berlin Passenger Association IGEB critically commented on these measures and wondered why such visits cannot take place in less traffic -polluted places such as Meseberg Castle or BER Airport.
