A moving contemporary witness: reading with Claudia Johanna Bauer and Ruth Winkelmann

Next Sunday, September 22, 2024, interested parties have the opportunity to take part in a special reading and a conversation at 3 p.m. in the Reinickendorf museum. The author Claudia Johanna Bauer will be present and together with the contemporary witness Ruth Winkelmann about the new edition of the successful book "Suddenly I was called Sara".

The book tells the moving story of Ruth Winkelmann in 15 episodes, who was the only survivor of her Jewish family to experience National Socialism and War in Berlin. Despite the darkness and despair of that time, their memories also show moments of humanity and solidarity in the middle of horror. Culture City Councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) emphasized the importance of Ruth Winkelmann's stories as a valuable testimony of history and as a reminder for the future.

The reading and the conversation take place in the Museum Reinickendorf, Alt-Hermsdorf 35, 13467 Berlin. Entry to this event is free of charge, but please register by phone at (030) 9029-464 60 or by email to museum@reinickendorf.berlin.de.

This event is a unique opportunity for all historical and book lovers to be inspired by the moving stories by Ruth Winkelmann.
