A captivating experience announces itself! This coming weekend, specifically on October 19 and 20, the Carl Bosch School in Hermsdorf will be transformed into an Eldorado for model railroad lovers. From Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the second model railway exhibition opens its gates and inspires young and old.

The school's model railway group has put a lot of effort into doing this event unforgettable. And that's not just something for the die -hard fans of the small track systems! School City Councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) sums it up: "This model railway exhibition is a perfect opportunity to bring children and young people closer to the fascination of technology and history." A truly ingenious connection between tradition and innovation!

historical highlights of the Berlin railways

This year the popular historical model railway exhibition will be moved to Hermsdorf. After many years at the Gustav-Heinemann High School in Marienfelde, visitors can now look forward to exciting historical topics that take them on a journey through time through Berlin railway history. A few of the sensational exhibits that should never be missing are:

  • 100 years of electric S-Bahn to Bernau (1924)
  • Steam trains on Berlin's city and ring railways around 1924
  • An impressive replica of the three-phase record railway Marienfelde-Zossen (1903) in Spur 1 is presented on stage!

This is a unique opportunity for the whole family to discover the magic of miniature worlds and at the same time take a look at the eventful history of Berlin. And be careful: the ballroom on the 1st floor is not accessible to accessible - so you plan your arrival accordingly!
