Refurbishment of the A104 tunnel in Berlin: Still patience!
The tunnel of the city highway (A104), which has been blocked since April 2023 under the high -rise building on Schlangenbader Strasse in Berlin, is being renovated for massive 41 million euros. According to information from B.Z. the extensive work should begin in spring 2025 and drag on over a longer period of time. This measure is urgently necessary to ensure traffic safety and bring the infrastructure up to date.
large projects in Europe
While in Berlin it is planned for a fundamental renovation of the tunnel, a groundbreaking traffic project is realized in Maastricht: the so -called "Groene Loper" is to bring 80 percent of the previous traffic to the A2 until 2016. This represents one of the largest construction projects in this region, with the construction of a two -storey tunnel, each encompassing two tunnel pipes. This shows that many cities in Europe are looking for paths to make traffic more efficient and environmentally friendly, as is reported by the exciting initiative in Maastricht, where such tunnel structures are carried out for the first time in Europe.
These developments not only underline the need for infrastructure investments, but also the trend to shift and modernize existing traffic flows in an environmentally conscious manner. The renovation in Berlin thus represents part of a larger, European framework in which innovation and security in road construction play a central role.
