Scandal judgment heats the mind: Union President Double Down!
Scandal judgment heats the mind: Union President Double Down!
After a turbulent incident in the game between the 1st FC Union Berlin and VfL Bochum on December 14, 2024, the minds were boiled up. The DFB sports court recently decided to evaluate the game on Bochum goalkeeper Patrick Drewes, who had to end the game early, 2-0 for Bochum. President Dirk Zingler from the 1st FC Union was outraged and criticized the judgment as a "smear theater", which opened the further nonsense in football door and gate, such as rbb24 reported.
The judgment not only applied Union, but also pushed VfL Bochum into the defensive role. Bochum's managing director accused Union of pronouncing the incident in order to gain sporting advantages, which is perceived as unfair and scandalous in the serious context. Bochum, on the other hand, emphasizes that he never showed his finger on Union and only acted to protect your own club. According to WDR, the procedure of the Bochumer was necessary to prevent further damage, even if the judgment could possibly have negative consequences for uninvolved.
Union has now announced that it is "through all instances" against the judgment, and criticizes the intervention of the DFB control committee, the actions of which are considered questionable. Horst Heldt, Union's sports manager, spoke that this opens up the potential for betting manipulations against the integrity of the game. The controversy and inconsistencies around the game are not only a conflict between two clubs, but also raise questions about the decision -making in the Bundesliga, which is more than ever the focus due to this incident.
