European Democratic Action Week: Berlin young people strengthen their self -confidence and promote cultural exchange
Gemäß einem Bericht von www.berlin.de veranstalten die Bezirksämter Treptow-Köpenick and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg together with other cooperation partners from October 16 to 21, 2023 A European Youth Forum, in which 60 young people from various Berlin districts as well as from the Polish partner cities Warsaw-Mokotów and Stettin as well as the Ukrainian partners Dolyna and Kyji-Darnyzja together. The goal of the forum is to strengthen the positive self -awareness among the young people, to encourage them to deal with a fair and equal way of dealing with each other and to support a democratic and European awareness.
As a citizen of Berlin, I am pleased to see that such intercultural youth encounters take place in order to promote communication among young people. At a time when the world is shaped by crises and conflicts, it is particularly important that young people have the opportunity to get in touch and fear without fear and to exchange ideas about their cultures, history, dreams and future ideas.
The youth forum offers the participating young people a platform to raise their voice and share their perspectives. It is an opportunity for them to make friendships, develop new ideas and to develop understanding for each other. By dealing with democratic and European awareness, they are also encouraged to stand up for their rights and values and to take responsibility for the design of their society.
As a citizen of Berlin, I am proud that our city supports such events. Sie zeigen das Engagement der Stadt, die junge Generation zu fördern, sie dazu zu befähigen, positive Veränderungen herbeizuführen und einander wertzuschätzen. Participation in this youth forum can help young people to become confident and strong by celebrating their own identity and diversity of Europe.
District Mayor Oliver Igel: "In view of the current crises, there are urgently needing opportunities and places where young people from different countries can meet openly and fearlessly. The European Democratic Action Week offers an excellent opportunity so that young people from Europe can exchange ideas about their dreams and future ideas and develop understanding for each other".
