Treptow-Köpenick sets a sign: Action week against violence on women
Every year on November 25th, a worldwide sign is set: the international day against violence against women provides a sensation and attention. But this year the city of Treptow-Köpenick goes one step further! From November 18 to 25, the campaign week "strong together - for a life without violence" will take place. Not only are talking here, but decisively traded!
Together with numerous projects and advice centers, the equal opportunities officers show in a powerful alliance that violence against women and girls is not tolerated. A clear appeal to society to look more carefully and help the victims. A variety of events are on the plan - they all aim to raise awareness of these serious topics and demonstrate solidarity.
overwhelming reality
Violence in partnership affects women and girls from all social classes and age groups. But that is not limited to these groups! Lesbians, non-bobes, trans and agenda-in short: Flinta-also experience terrible attacks, often reinforced by disabilities or racism experiences. Here it becomes clear that violence occurs in many forms: from physical attacks to threats and stalking. Alarming: 78 % of the perpetrators are men.
The numbers speak for themselves! Every third woman experiences psychological or sexualized violence in her life. The number of 155 female female in Germany in 2023 is particularly frightening. "Every other day, a woman is killed by her partner or ex -partner in Germany," explains equal opportunities officer Maria Koch. "These crimes are not a private matter, but a task for society as a whole!"
become active together!
The program of the action week, designed by committed players from the district, shows that it is not looking away here! In addition, the alliance on international day against violence on women calls for a large Berlin demonstration. Be there! Under the motto "Let us (non -violent) life - Istanbul Convention now implement now" should be demonstrated at 4 p.m. in front of the House of Representatives for a non -violent future. Every step counts in the fight against these terrible crimes!
