Bread Art: Discover exotic baked goods from the Balkans in the region

In the heart of the municipality of Riedlingen, a new gastronomic highlight has established itself: the "Bread Art" bakery. On August 2, the restaurant opened its doors on the B 311 and offers a variety of baked goods that not only comprises traditional pasta, but also exciting exotics such as Börek and Spraykuchen Tollumb. This represents a special enrichment for the region, since such specialties were hardly available here.

A family business with tradition

Sadri Leniqi, the 39-year-old baker and founder of "bread art", not only brought his passion for baking from Kosovo, but also experiences that he gained in Slovenia and at the Böck bakery in Riedlingen. His father, Xheme, is also part of the team and actively helps. In addition to the family aspect, the commitment to the local community is a central point that Leniqi emphasizes. "We mainly get our main ingredients from the region. The flour comes from Munderkingen and the meat from quantities," he explains.

Quality before quantity

The offer in "Bread Art" is emphasized by the use of fresh dough instead of sourdough. "I found that sourdough is heavier in the stomach," says Leniqi, emphasizing the freshness of his products. Everything is done by hand every day, which ensures the quality of the baked goods. But the focus is not only on quality: Leniqi is aware of the challenge, the big discounters in the region. These put pressure on the prices for small bakeries, explains the baker.

Plans for the future

While the range is constantly being expanded, there are also challenges. For example, Leniqi is waiting for the delivery of his grill, which means that no hearty dishes such as chicken and cevapcici can currently be offered. In the meantime, he plans to further expand the range of baked goods and integrate more regional products. He hopes to be able to obtain eggs from Riedlinger farmers in the future.

A place of encounter

The establishment of the bakery already invites you to a cozy lingering, both inside and outside. "Bread Art" opens its doors from Monday to Saturday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Leniqi's commitment to maintain its roots and to bring the Bakan's bak -like culture into the region not only shows the diversity of gastronomic offers, but also strengthens the local community and promotes cooperation with regional producers.
