Digital guest card: Free public transport for Allgäu vacationers from 2025!

Wangen, Deutschland - An exciting news for tourists in the region between Biberach and Lake Constance: From May 2025, a uniform digital guest card will be introduced that enables travelers to use buses and trains in this spacious region free of charge. This is the result of an initiative by Oberschwaben Tourismus GmbH (OTG), which was decided after two years of preparation and in consultation with the city councils in Wangen and Kißlegg. The card is automatically spent on guests who spend the night in participating locations, and contains numerous offers from around 70 partners, including exclusive events.

In order to cover the costs for the free use of local public transport, the tourist tax in Wangen could increase. Municipal council meetings in winter are expected to increase an increase of at least 1.10 euros. The tourist tax is currently 1.60 euros per day and guest. In view of the over 120,000 nights in Wangen last year, the digital guest card could become a real magnet for tourists. The accession to the initiative was also decided in Kißlegg, while the OTG is already working on expanding the offer to offer guests access to popular excursion destinations and attractions.
