In this collection of 71 essays, the 82-year-old illuminates the multifaceted history of Biberach, from the early beginning to the 20th century. Diemer, who has a deep understanding of local history as a city archivist, would like to bring his fellow citizens closer to the unique facets of city history, including the more than 450-year simultaneous tradition.

In his foreword, Diemer announces that this will probably be the last volume of his book series. He does not see himself able to create another complete work without using already written. Each chapter is peppered with stories about Biberacher personalities, families, guilds and even about the historic tavern and the first newspapers in the city.
