Rat plague in Ochsenhausen: Neighbors fight for their quality of life
Weinberg, Ochsenhausen, Deutschland - residents of the Weinberg settlement in Ochsenhausen are on the edge of despair! For years they have been fighting a massive plague of rat that is caused by neglected gardens and garbage. The Situation escalates: Josef and Heidi Hohl, who have been living on Weinbergstraße since 1996, report rats who aggressively scurry across their terrace. "When I walk with the dog, the fear is great that the rats will run over my foot," says Heidi Hohl desperately. Several neighbors have already filed a complaint with the regulatory office, but the problems remain.
The city administration confirms that the rat problem has been known since 2015. Measures have already been taken on the initiative of the city, including the display of baits. Monika Merk, spokeswoman for the city, also announces that the cause of the plague of rat threatens a fine. "The polluter was asked to remedy and a fine was threatened," said Merk. While the residents hope for improvement, the situation continues to come to a head: the Hohls feel restricted by the rats and stench of their neighbors in their own home, and a solution does not seem to be in sight. The situation is no longer portable!
