Bielefeld: Repairs to Rain disaster-that's how it goes!

Bielefeld, Deutschland - at the end of 2023 three mountain roads in Bielefeld were badly damaged by rainy masses and have been closed since then. On Thursday, October 24th, the city announced what the further procedure looks like. The Gräfinghagener Straße between Lämershagen and Ubkädissen is to be temporarily restored on Monday, October 28th . The repair costs amount to 50,000 euros for the 100 meter long route. A complete asphalting is planned for 2025.

For the Selhausenstraße in the area of Sieker/Hillegossen, a grid of 120 concrete columns is installed underground to stabilize the road at 80 meters. This work is to be completed in spring 2025 and will be estimated with 340,000 euros . However, the biggest challenge is in the Bodelschwinghstraße between Sieker, Gadderbaum and Brackwede. There, the work is initially discontinued due to construction and cost audits. It is estimated that the costs could be up to 2.5 million euros , since a gas line complicated the new road. The city hopes to be able to complete this project by 2025. Further details on these developments can be found on www.radiobielefeld.de .
