In a dramatic traffic accident in Bielefeld-Sennestadt, four people were injured on Monday evening around 10:25 p.m. when a 22-year-old man got on oncoming traffic with his Opel Astra and collided with a truck. The driver, with three passengers aged 15 and 17, initially stayed at the scene of the accident, but later disappeared. A little later, however, he could be taken up by the police. All occupants of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and were immediately brought to hospitals, while the truck driver, a 35-year-old from Elmshorn, was unharmed.

The Opel Astra fire caught fire through the impact and had to be deleted by the fire brigade. The total damage to the vehicles is estimated at around 20,000 euros. Both the Opel and the truck suffered considerable damage and had to be towed. The exact cause of the accident has so far been unclear and the investigation by the police is ongoing.
