Murder case in Bielefeld: Entrepreneur disappeared without a trace - convicted accused

Background of the crime and the financial need

The convicted man, a father of two children, was exposed to enormous pressure before the crime. Bailiffs had been on his heels because he had gotten into financial difficulties. A real estate purchase that he or his mother -in -law had made was not paid as agreed, which led to an impending action for eviction. The whole life of the 38-year-old was on the brink and he was desperately looking for a solution.

The entrepreneur and his circumstances

The entrepreneur from Hüllhorst, a 66-year-old man, was described as a wealth that his company had offered on the Internet for 1.2 million euros. According to the court, he led a life in abundance, but was also confronted with personal problems, including an alcohol problem. One thing is certain: he wanted to spend his retirement in Bulgaria, which makes his sudden departure or suicide unlikely.

Indician process without a body

Despite the absence of the body's body, the court was convinced that the accused is responsible for his death. The presiding judge Sven-Helge Kleine referred to the secured traces that combine the accused with the crime scene: blood leftovers and personal objects were found. The evidence that associated him in the Netherlands with the luxury vehicle of the allegedly killed were particularly stressful for the 38-year-old.

The defense and its arguments

In the process, the accused always contested that he had something to do with the death of the entrepreneur. His defense pointed out that the entrepreneur might still be alive abroad or had committed suicide. Richter Kleine, however, could not find any valid evidence of these theories and found that all evidence speaking against the accused.

Future and possible revision

Although the judgment was in life for murdered for murder, it is not yet final. The defendant's defenders have already announced that they had the guilty verdict checked by the Federal Court of Justice. The outcome of this procedure could have far -reaching consequences not only for the perpetrator, but also for trust in the legal system.

Finally, this case shows how complex the interactions between the individual emergency, crime and the legal processing of crimes are. It remains to be seen how the case will develop and what teachings can draw society from it.
