World Health Organization raises the alarm: Cholera case in Lebanon!

The alarming message comes from Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the first cholera case in Lebanon since the beginning of the current crisis. The Lebanese health authorities report that the WHO is working hard to prevent a large -scale outbreak of the dreaded diarrhea. After all, after the violent Israeli attacks, over one million displaced people live under catastrophic conditions, often without access to clean water, which drastically increases the risk of spread. as www.radiobielefeld.de reports , numerous tests of people and water samples are already underway.

cholera, which is particularly life -threatening for young children, appeared in Lebanon last in October 2022 and cost up to 23 lives. Now an attempt is made to provide more clean drinking water and improve wastewater disposal. While a vaccination campaign planned since August was interrupted by the escalation of the fights, the WHO has already brought medical material into the country for the treatment of cholera infected. The situation remains tense and the efforts to control the disease are more important than ever.
