In the planned draft budget 2025/2026 of the Free State of Saxony, there are drastic cuts in investing specialist funding in fire protection. The desired deletions of the siren promotion program and the funds for the forest fire protection concept are particularly worrying. In view of the increasing risk of forest fire in the region, this is considered a catastrophic signal.

The association calls for, among other things, to continue the specialist support in fire protection at the previous level, to continue the siren funding program and to provide the necessary funds for forest fire protection. In addition, more support for civil protection is required, together with the implementation of the expansion plans at the State Fire Brigade and Disaster Protection School in Nardt. The pressure on politics is growing - it is about the security of the communities!
