Göttingen, Deutschland - The Göttingen police inspection is experiencing a change of leadership! On May 1st, police director Marco Hansmann took over the management of Rainer Nolte, who will retire after 43 years of service in the Lower Saxony police and five years at the head of the Göttingen inspection. Hansmann, an experienced police officer since 1993, has extensive knowledge, including leading positions in the riot police and the Hameln-Pyrmont/Holzminden police inspection.

Rainer Nolte, a formative figure in police training, has passed on his knowledge in the areas of traffic and traffic law at the Lower Saxony police academy for two decades. His career spanned significant roles in various cities before taking over the management of the Göttingen police inspection in 2020. Marco Hansmann is now looking forward to continuing the successful work in the police inspection and mastering the specific challenges in Göttingen, where a total of around 650 police officers are responsible for more than 300,000 citizens.
