On Saturday afternoon, May 3, 2025, a dramatic near-accident occurred in Hanover when a VW Golf on Vahrenwalder Straße turned illegally over the tracks. The 24-year-old driver acted irresponsible and ensured that the light rail driver of line 1 had to brake a full braking to prevent a collision. However, the sudden braking led to the fact that several passengers rushed on the train.

In particular, a 70-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries, while another 24-year-old was slightly injured. The alarmed rescue workers were quickly on hand - they took care of the injured and took the senior to the hospital. Due to the rescue campaigns and the accident recording, there were disorders in tram traffic.
