The incident occurred in Sinsheim on Friday evening when a drunk driver crashed into a lamppost. Instead of staying at the scene of the accident, the driver decided to flee.
The unfortunate event was observed by an attentive witness who immediately informed the police. This was able to put the fleeting driver shortly afterwards and undergo control. It turned out that the 52-year-old driver was traveling in the blood with over 2 per thousand alcohol and also had no valid driving license.
The driver was brought to the police station to take blood. Both the lantern mast and the vehicle were damaged, with total damage of 2,500 euros. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
