Burning straw bales in Walsrode: Police are investigating arson!

In the night of Wednesday, dramatic scenes in Walsrode broke out at around 2:30 a.m.: Witnesses alerted the fire brigade due to burning straw bales on a field along the K 146, between Düshorn and Krelingen. A total of around 300 straw bales were on fire, while the emergency services were able to control the situation. The property damage amounts to around 15,000 euros. The police do not exclude an intentional arson and therefore search for information on 05191-93800.

The police in Essel also carried out a check on the A 7 in the night. An 18-year-old who drove towards Hamburg in snake lines first wanted to avoid control and turned back to the highway shortly before the Allertal-Ost rest area. After persecution, however, the vehicle could be stopped in the "Krelinger Heide" parking lot. The young driver stated false personal details and suspected that he was under the influence of exhilarating means. He refused a urine test, which led to the removal of a blood sample.
