Chaos in Dortmund: Protests end up with violence and seating blocks!
On Saturday, April 26th, there were several meetings in the city center in Dortmund, which were accompanied by the police. A meeting registered as a protest against a car and foot march was ended shortly after the beginning at 12:55 p.m. by the organizers after some participants tried to break through police barriers and leave the official route.
In the meantime, around 30 people at Hiltropwall blocked the road with a seat block, while another group held an intermediate rally at the park of the partner cities. The police found the identities of the blockers and issued references. In addition, an assault offense was reported: a group from the right spectrum was supposedly thrown at glass bottles by around 30 people. One person suffered a head injury and was brought to the Dortmund-Nord accident clinic, but was already released after outpatient treatment. The federal police examined the incident. Freedom of the press was guaranteed during the events by the police, so that numerous media professionals could report on site.
