Theft at Mannheim Central Station: 63-year-old caught!

In a shocking incident late Wednesday evening, a 63-year-old man stolen a backpack at the Mannheim main station, during which owner, a 36-year-old Iranian, briefly went to the toilet. The theft occurred around 10 p.m. when the traveler left his backpack on a bench on platform 5. Returning he found shocked that his luggage had disappeared.

The federal police immediately initiated a search and quickly discovered the backpack in the post tunnel. The alleged thief was caught on platform 7 a little later and temporarily arrested. He is now being investigated for theft. The federal police warns: Luggage should never be left unattended - thieves use even seconds to strike.
