In the past few days, a number of questionable incidents have occurred in several cities in the Rheingau-Taunus district that shake both the police and the public. These are property damage and traffic offenses caused by both vandals and inattentive road users.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, around 12:46 p.m., a 63-year-old man in Heidenrod was the goal of an unpleasant incident. Three unknown craftsmen rang on his door with the offer to repair its roof channels. However, they started work without prior consent and finally damaged the gutter. After finishing their action, the men fled in a Ford Transit with Polish license plates. The police in Bad Schwalbach has taken up the investigation due to this incident and asks the population for information on the number (06127) 7078-0.
rioters in schools and vandalism
Another worrying event took place between Monday evening and Tuesday morning, August 26 to 27, 2024, in a school in Rüdesheim am Rhein. Unknown perpetrators came to the school's gym in Breslauer Strasse in an unknown way, where they caused considerable damage. A film projector and a pin board were damaged while a drill was stolen. The Rüdesheim police station has also started the investigation here and asks for information on the telephone number (06722) 9112-0.
In a similar way, damage in Oestrich-Winkel was also caused in an underground car park from Monday to Tuesday. There, strangers tore a ceiling lamp from the anchoring and left broken parts and empty beer bottles. What was striking was a fussing bag with a wallet, which was also found in the underground car park. The investigation is ongoing, and here too the police accept information on the number (06722) 9112-0.
traffic accident in Rüdesheim
The same Tuesday, just a few hours later, there was another incident in Rüdesheim am Rhein around 4:13 p.m. A 73-year-old drove his VW Arteon Geisenheimer Straße towards Rüdesheim when there was a rear-end collision. The quad driver, 44 years old behind him, had to last due to traffic. However, a 30-year-old driver of a VW Caddy did not notice this and drove to the rear of the quad, which then pushed into the vehicle of the older driver. The quad driver injured himself slightly and was treated on site. An estimated property damage of around 10,000 euros was incurred on the vehicles involved.
Another example of vandalism occurred on Tuesday evening in Idstein, where parts of the outer facade of a travel agency were smeared on Wiesbadener Strasse. An unknown man who is described as about 180 cm tall, 15-18 years old and dark-skinned could be seen near the travel agency. He was wearing dreadlocks and a black carpenter vest. The police are investigating whether this incident is related to other similar smearings of the past few days. Information is requested under (06126) 9394-0.
