Dramatic rescue exercise: Fire Brigade Iserlohn shows your skills!

Elisabeth Krankenhaus, Iserlohn, Deutschland - The Iserlohn fire brigade was alerted to the former sister dormitory of the Elisabeth Hospital shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday morning. Fire in the basement and several missing people were reported. Dense smoke already came out of the building when they arrive, and numerous people were in danger of windows and balconies.

The emergency services quickly passed to rescue. Break protection teams searched for the missing people inside, while at the same time people were saved by the balconies of the first floor. An injured person was saved through the window after a grid was opened. The saved patients were immediately brought to the emergency room of the neighboring hospital, where the cooperation between the fire brigade and the clinic staff went smoothly. Due to the high number of injuries, a "MANV" situation, i.e. a mass of a mass of injuries, was proclaimed.

The exercise, in which the youth red cross was also integrated, was a complete success and taught everyone involved valuable lessons. Afterwards there was a meal together in the hospital canteen to strengthen the teams. A big thank you goes to the committed helpers for their excellent work!
