Drug controls in Offenbach: 16 drivers under the influence of intoxicants!

On Wednesday, the police in Offenbach and Hanau carried out extensive controls that aimed at drug and alcohol consumption at the wheel. A total of 16 road users had to hand in a blood test because there was suspicion of the influence of intoxicating means. Six of the drivers had apparently consumed cocaine before driving, which led to corresponding criminal charges.

The police were on the road with two control sections on federal road 448 and punished numerous administrative offenses. Among the crimes taken up were also violations of the weapons law and six advertisements for driving without a license. In addition, the officials discovered four violations of the compulsory insurance law. The controls aim to increase traffic safety and to address the dangers of drug use at the wheel, as this not only endangers the life of the drivers, but also that of other road users.
