Burglars on the escape: KVB employee stop the raid on the Neumarkt!

On the night of Monday, the Cologne police caught a suspected burglar (37) at Neumarkt! Witnesses reported that the whole incident began at 1:30 a.m. when the perpetrator violently entered a café at the Neumarkt subway station and ransacked the cash register area. But when he noticed two employees of the Cologne Verkehrsbetriebe (KVB), he fled and tried to escape with the cash register.

Thanks to the quick reaction of the KVB employees, the man could be stopped on the Neumarkt. They held it until the arrival of a patrol car crew. The police secured the cash register that the 37-year-old had left behind during his escape. A classic case of "opportunity makes thieves" - but here the thief was quickly brought to the route!
