Wrong bank employees: 78-year-old loses 3,000 euros in Monheim!

On Friday, May 2, 2025, the alarm bells were loud in Monheim am Rhein when a fraudulent call brought a 78-year-old senior citizen by several thousand euros. Under the pretext of being a "false bank employee", the perpetrators böred their trust and asked them to provide cash for collection. Since the lady did not have the required amount in her account, she offered to hand over the money in cash at home.

at 3:30 p.m. a young man appeared in her apartment and accepted a envelope with 3,000 euros. The perpetrator, between 20 and 30 years old and about 1.80 to 1.85 meters tall, had a Central European appearance, short dark hair and spoke accent -free German. The police are now investigating and asking the population for clues. In an appeal, the police strengthen the awareness of fraud stitches and recommends to put up immediately in the event of suspicious calls and not reveal any personal data.
